Respect The Witterings

We are delighted that you are visiting our wonderful beaches, and we hope you have a wonderful time. The beauty of the area remains because of the respect we show for it.

Together there are things we must remember so that The Witterings are as fabulous for your next visit as they have been for this one.

Please do remember:

  • Pre-book your parking space through JustPark for West Wittering Beach. Parking is extremely limited in the villages, with driveways in continuous use by residents and traffic wardens operate continually throughout the year.
  • Keep to the designated public footpaths in the area.
  • Take all of your rubbish home (including cigarette butts).
  • Respect your neighbours if you are staying locally.
  • Keep to the cycle paths if you are cycling – please keep the footpaths safe for walkers only.
  • Leave your disposable barbecues at home – these are no longer permitted anywhere on West Wittering beach, in the car park or on East Head.
  • Whilst we love your dogs, they are not allowed on the main beach (broadly the area in front of the beach huts) at West Wittering from 1st May – 30th September and must be kept on a lead in the dunes on East Head from 1st March – 31st July.
  • Please pick up after your dog wherever you are in the area – there are lots of dog bins as shown here
  • Please don’t surf on or knock down the dunes, they are a fragile and natural resource that need protecting.

Thank you for respecting The Witterings – we really appreciate it, we hope you have a really wonderful time and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
